This year, as every year does, brings us the opportunity and the means to grow. Each year starts and ends with the Sun in Capricorn, the sign of growth, progress and the striving for success. For too long now this has been seen as material success, a better job, a career goal met, more money, a secure life and retirement. In order for things to change for the better, we have to go back to the original meaning of the sign Capricorn, that of spiritual and personal growth. That means taking responsibility for our own lives, creating our own better life by freeing ourselves from the limitations and blocks of the past, and by doing for ourselves, not entrusting our future, and that of our children, to those whose aspirations are their own material gain and enrichment.
Clarity and focus are the watchword of this year, seeing how we can progress along with, not in spite of, others. There will be a pronounced sense of duty, a willingness to be responsible and to serve for the betterment of all, and a limitless belief in ourselves and what is possible and attainable.
(AST): The Sun (conscious awareness and path) in Capricorn (striving to better the self) is trine (growth, expansion, luck, optimism) the Moon (emotions, instinct) in Virgo (analytical, serving, seeking the highest good) which is opposing (issues with the outer world) Uranus (sudden changes or breakthroughs) in Pisces (faith, intuition). Since Uranus is our sense of ourselves, this connection brings us to no longer simply accept what we are told, but to see for ourselves how powerful and capable we really are and that we don’t need others to define and set the limits for our lives.
Our power, understanding of life, and our needs are all connected to a higher sense of ourselves, and the opportunity exists to break free of the cycle of fear and insecurity that has made us insecure and willing to go along with whoever and whatever might seem to offer protection.
(AST): Pluto (inner power), Mercury (ideas, thoughts), and Venus (needs) are all joined in Sagittarius, the sign or freedom and connection to a Higher Power. These are inconjunct (karmic issues) Saturn (authority, power, fear) in Cancer (caring for, security, home and family). The ages long use of violence and fear to control populations has got the end, and we have to think for ourselves. By threatening our home(land) and family, we are willing to go along with anything that will keep us safe. Look at the freedoms and rights that have been taken away and that we have agreed to since 9 - 11, and ask yourself if the price was worth it. Are you safer today? Can anyone assure you that 9 - 11 will not happen again? The answer lies within.
Personal freedom and rights are sacrosanct, something that we would die to protect. Yet, we are afraid of the reality of this world. The answer, again, lies within and we need to think for ourselves to find the truth.
(AST): Mars (desire, personal goals) in Sagittarius (freedom, justice) is square (inner tension) Uranus (individuality, freedom) in Pisces (inner knowledge, intuition) and the Moon (emotions, fear) in Virgo (practicality, analysis, reason). Fear wins, unless we activate the release point (of the T-square) in Gemini, and communicate, seek the truth, open our minds and ideas, and be free of the fear that undermines us.
I see 2005 as a year of great promise and opportunity for significant and positive change. It will have its struggles, but what can be gained, a kinder and gentler world with abundance for all, is worth going after.

ARIES
Personal freedom, an emerging faith in the self, and fears connected to practical reality are all at war within the self. Open your mind, your eyes, your heart to seeing things in a new way. Fortune and opportunity come your way for at least half the year through partners, associates or legal contracts. Strive to find balance in your life, and utilize your creative side. You have a choice this year of finding your inner power and being who you are, or giving into fear and allowing the world to overwhelm you. Trust what is right for you.
January brings much in the way of creative insights, while the Spring accents your need to be free of limitations. The Summer brings you face to face with issues of self worth and home and family, while the Fall will give you answers to what is needed to succeed.
The year ends on a very positive note if you are willing to fight for what you want in life, and not give in to fear and the experiences of the past.
TAURUS
2005 will bring you face to face with your own insecurities, and what you need from others, and more importantly, what you get from others. You will be subjugated to others opinions and values as a test to find out how far you are willing to go, how much you are willing to concede, to have your needs met. The answer may surprise you, and allow you to grow. If you are feeling trapped in your current situation, then seeing what is important to you in a new way will open many doors for you.
January brings some insight or creative ideas in work or business. Opportunities come through providing a service. February may find you feeling both stifled and uneasy about your life. Stand back and see your values or your finances in a different way and much can change. July especially needs you to be open to changing rigid concepts especially where family is concerned.
October brings good luck or opportunity, while the year ends with strong positive changes in your realtionships and interactions with others.
GEMINI
A powerful year to deal with and see positive changes in your relationships. Issues of power and control, communication, and needs are strongly aligned, and forcing you to make a choice based on your values, and facing what it is you have difficulty with. Changes in home and family are possible with emphasis on what you are getting from your relationship. Positive opportunities to amend your lifestyle come through far away or exotic sources.
January can bring good news and fresh starts through trips or distant places. See big changes in your work or business in February. Early summer can bring financial issues and major decisions. September brings good news or ideas from afar.
Late in the year, in November, personal issues relating to partnerships bring an opportunity to deal with things. The solution is in your hands, and you are able to resolve things, bringing the year to an end on a very positive note.
CANCER
2005 brings opportunities to deal with issues of responsibility and need, and especially personal freedom or choice. Partners and family will be a source of strength and support through this time. Look inside of yourself for the answers you need. Your desire to do for others is conflicting with your own desires. The resulting stress is between your higher awareness of yourself, and your nurturing impulses. The answer lies in knowing when to say no.
January provides some insights into problems you are having with others. Be optimistic. February shifts your attention to your own needs. Look to the Spring to show you how to move on. July can prove difficult.
As midsummer approaches, look to emotional upheavals where you feel you are being taken advantage of, or taken for granted. Others need to share the load. October will be very pleasant as much stress is lifted.
LEO
Significant changes in your financial situation come about through work or service to others. By focusing on what you can do that will benefit others will help you to attain your personal goals in the short term. To offset the stress of the demands of others on you and the responsibilities you feel, look for ways to provide long term security. Opportunities to overcome some long term issue that has been limiting your life will be provided by partners and family members.
January brings positive insight through those close to you lifting some anxieties. Look for direction in February and realize that to resolve the issues will take a long term solution. September brings financial changes and opportunities to invest.
October will be a very positive time, but big changes will occur by November. The end of the year will bring a sense of security and clarity with financial issues resolved. You will see that you have made much progress through the year and a measure of balance and harmony has been achieved.
VIRGO
The major focus of 2005 for you is in achieving some personal goals in your lifestyle. Expect big changes for yourself throughout the year. Positive financial gains make many things possible. You will be facing long term security issues relating to home and family. Your personal solution, as you have the means yourself to solve this problem, lies in seeing your work or business in a different way, and being open to changes.
February brings some clarity of thought that enables you to see innovative solutions to your problems. The late spring shows you how right you were. Midsummer can be a trying time, with problems on the home front, but October will good financial news.
Look to November for achieving a personal goal that involves the whole family, with big changes occurring, possibly a new home or relocation. By year end you are feeling personal gratification and looking forward to where you life is going now that you have put so much behind you.
LIBRA
2005 has you still in a very fortunate cycle, at least for half of the year, as Jupiter moves through your sign. It is linked to your lifestyle sector and the creativity of Neptune, so you will be able to accomplish much in the way of desired changes this year. Family needs are a big issue this year as responsibilities clash with feelings of responsibility, and personal freedom and desires. Seek the resolution of this problem within yourself to relieve the stress that is building up. Financial changes of the positive kind will come in the second half of the year.
January brings good news for you personally, lifting some worries pertaining to family issues. February has you needing to have help with the responsibilities you have undertaken, and promises a solution. Look to late spring for answers.
Although the summer may be stressful, the solution is at hand with September bringing positive changes. By your birthday you will be in the new cycle and looking for good financial opportunities. October is positive and sees you free of many of the limitations of the year. You can accomplish much this year by looking within and resolving emotional issues from the past. In other words, let go and move on.
SCORPIO
The main focus of 2005 for you is in clarity and an end to confusion as to where you are going and where you go from here. By mid year you will be under a very positive personal energy and fortune and luck will permeate your life. Finances and financial issues are a big test this year. Your personal desires cause conflicts with both your short term needs in your current situation, and your long term feelings of security. Turn to others for advice here and resolve the issue.
Initial positive feelings about the future are supported by events in January. February brings an idea of what you are facing this year. As was given, others can provide the solution, so good communication is essential to resolving this problem.
Although the Summer can be difficult, by September things will have settled down leading to a very positive time in November, showing much in the way of progress and a good ending to the year.
SAGITTARIUS
This is a year of great opportunity with events providing you with the means to make some real progress and see significant change in your life. Support from friends and good fortune in long term prospects can impact positively on your future. Changes at work or in business can provide the financial resources you need. Personal desires can bring stress relating to some changes, and some personal needs, but you will resolve these through contacts or partners in your life. A challenging time in altering your dependency on others and being able to be yourself.
January brings some positive insight through others that will help you to deal with some major difficulties later on. By February you will be aware of where things are going, and by the late Spring the answers will come. Difficulties separating yourself form others to do your own thing will manifest in the Summer.
October brings some positive support through connections that you have, and by November you will see your progress in sharp relief as you will by much more self-sufficient. Financial news is all good for this year.
CAPRICORN
Another dynamic and challenging year for you with your world expanding considerably in 2005. Major inner work will be possible this year with the effects of your conflicts with others diminishing and fading by mid-year. Positive opportunities in work or business will give you degrees of financial freedom not previously realized. Some personal desire may clash with events and cause you distress as an infringement on your personal free time, but see this as a chance to make a difference in the world, and things will be resolved.
Good news on the financial front in January sets you up for the rest of the year. February brings some unexpected developments that interfere with your plans. See this in a different way and by Spring it will be seen to be a positive situation.
Summer brings a lifting of conflicts with others, and new opportunities at work. Look to November for an indication of how much progress you have made this year. Opportunity brings challenge. Rise to the occasion and this will be a very good year.
AQUARIUS
2005 will be a very positive personal year for you. Strong support from others will allow you to realize some inner needs. Unexpected conflicts with others over finances especially related to some long term goals of yours, can be resolved by dealing with things in the present. Issues of responsibility still seem to be around at least until mid-year. Concerns seem to be related to plans for the future. Good fortune comes to you through those at a distance and positive changes occur in your relationships.
January has some delightful news that impacts on you personally, while February opens the door on some financial conflicts. Don’t worry, as this will be resolved by Spring. Summer brings some responsibility issues as they impact on your plans. September reminds you that you have dealt with that financial problem, so don’t go into it again.
October is a magical time and a wonderful time to take a vacation. November brings the go ahead to fulfill your personal desires and to see an end to the conflicts of the year, which ends on a very positive personal note.
PISCES
You are now into your second year of growth and personal change. 2005 offers a much more intense program, so be open to looking at what you hold onto most strongly as others will challenge you and your personal direction. Friends prove especially supportive this year. Long term plans and security seem much clearer than before. Career or work preferences can bring about decisions that frustrate your present path. You can achieve a deeper level of closeness with others this year.
January is a magical time as if wonderful feelings stored within are still emerging. February is a reality check as it brings you into conflicts with others over work or business decisions. This can be resolved, and will be by the Spring. Summer can be difficult as your life seems to be disrupted by the demands of work.
October is another pleasant, if not magical time, so enjoy and plan a trip. November can heat up if conflicts have not been resolved. All in all the year ends on a very positive note, showing much in the way of accomplishment.
